Isolde Sundet, Ed.M, M.A, LMHC
What is your background?
I completed my clinical training at Columbia University in New York City and am a licensed mental health counselor in both New York and Texas. I provide in person psychotherapy in English in Porto, Portugal.
I am a certified Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapist as well as a certified mediator.
Who do you work with?
I work with anyone who is interested in beginning therapy for the first time, or who is looking for a fresh start with someone new. I see both individuals and couples on a long-term and short-term basis, many of whom have different reasons for being in therapy with diverse goals. I also provide organizational coaching and executive coaching to professionals. Many people come to me to seek guidance with career dissatisfaction, relationship issues, and stress and anxiety.
What kind of therapist are you?
I use a psychodynamic approach but tailor my style depending on your needs. Some clients are more interested in open-ended therapy while others have more concrete goals.
What can I expect from therapy?
I meet weekly with most of my clients for 45 minutes. Together we’ll work towards uncovering what your goals and desires are and how you can live the life you want.
